i9 Sports is dedicated to bridging the gender gap in youth sports through our new "Gains are for the Girls" campaign. Our bold mission is to have 500,000 girls playing in our programs annually by 2030.
Our movement is built on direct insights from our 2025 "Shaping the Future of Sports For Girls" survey, which gathered perspectives from over 1,500 parents who were encouraged to take the survey alongside their daughters. Our findings emphasized that girls stay in sports when they feel a sense of belonging, have supportive coaching, and above all else, are having fun versus focusing on the score.
To support this vision, we have committed to:
Specialized Coaching: Providing dedicated resources, including modules from CoachingHER®, to ensure our coaches create the supportive environments girls need to thrive.
To date,~ 2,000 Coaching HER® courses have been completed by i9 Sports staff members, coaches, and parents.
Increased Representation: Expanding girls-specific programming by 20% annually and launching dedicated "Gains are for the Girls" on-field signage and gear.
Launched an internal initiative focused on growing girls’ participation in flag football this spring, with an ambitious goal of engaging over 16,000 girls in the Spring 2026 season.
A girls' programming advisory council with female leaders at the forefront has also been created to ensure we keep our focus on designing programs that girls will enjoy. Programs built for girls, by girls.
Continued Listening: We will conduct more surveys to ensure we continue to listen to our parents and players.
We believe that when girls participate in sports, they gain much more than just athletic skills; they also develop the confidence, resilience, and leadership necessary to succeed in life.
